Autumn Hours are Posted. Happy almost Halloween

Hello Populace Patients,

It is finally one of the most wonderful times of the year. I love October. There are pumpkins everywhere, life-size plague doctors and larger-than-life skeleton decorations on lawns, people are talking about their plans to dress up with friends just for the fun of it, the mornings are misty as anything, and my elder dog’s feet make soft crispy sounds on the leaves as she walks; it’s perfect. If you don’t love fall, I hope you can at least get some joy out of the festivities with people you care about.

For patient updates, there are a few simple things to announce this quarter.

First, the Fall hours are now available. As you probably know, the calendar tends to fill, so please feel welcome to schedule a couple of advance sessions (2-4 weeks ahead of time) if you’re the kind of person to come in more regularly.

Second, many patients were auto-subscribed to this Patient’s Quarterly Newsletter today. This is the Populace Wellness blog; they are one and the same. A subscription will allow you to be notified via email when the new hours of availability are posted each quarter. You can stay subscribed as is, adjust your notification preferences/settings, or unsubscribe if you like. Just know, I will not be emailing the newsletter to patients individually anymore, as I prefer not to work weekends.

Third, Acuity (the scheduling app) has been changing my preferences with their recent update. If you’re booking an appointment and something seems “off” or confusing, please text me and we’ll sort it out. You should never be prompted to pay full price for an insurance appointment. The door code is still the same, and should look the same in every reminder email and text. I hope to clear these glitches up by the end of next week.

So whether you’re hoping to get in for a last minute injury care appt, need other help with scheduling, need help adjusting your blog notification settings, unsubscribing etc, please feel welcome to text me about these questions, and I will get back to you on the next open admin. day.

Thanks so much and see you soon,

Dr. Turner, LMT DC, pelvic floor rehabist

*You can also call or email, but the response time will be slower.

(P.S. I hope the image inspires anyone curious to look up the history of plague doctors. They were the herbalist scientists who wanted to reach the ill, despite fears of death. Of course there were splintering interests that created both honorable and deviant uses for the costumes. It’s a complex history with some dark sides and beautiful sides, perfect for pre-Halloween times. Happy Fall ya’ll.)
